Bookish Discovery Of The Week.

Happy Thursday my people.

Its been a month here, on the blog and I’ve still not figured out a posting schedule. To help me out, I’m going to adopt a weekly book tag created by Tavleen and Mridula. Go on and click on their names to go check out the original posts.

So a little thank you to them for making what they call, Bookish Discovery Of The Week Tag/Meme.  

Basically you post something, anything book related every Thursday. Be it a new found author, a new book, purchases, new words so on so forth.

And so without further ado, let’s talk about Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGinnis and how I changed my rating regarding it.

Not A Drop To Drink is a dystopian ya novel, rather short and to the point. It talks about a world without clean water and the hardships of the humans living in it.

Our main characters are a young girl and her mother. The additional characters come later onto the book and all in all it was a very fast read.

I finished the book in a night and at first I thought it was because the book was so short. I gave it two stars since that’s what most dystopians get and moved on with my life.

In the next whole year, though I found myself thinking about segments of the book. I found myself pausing whatever I was doing to try and remember what the name of ‘that book’ had been. I constantly replayed multiple scenes from the book in my head, trying to figure out what could have been done differently and how it would’ve affected the outcome.

Only yesterday did I change my rating on this book. Not because it was fantastic or because it was one of my favourites, but because it was so weirdly memorable.

I just wanted to share this because I don’t usually change ratings and this meme was the perfect opportunity to talk about something like this.
